Being the eighth largest city in the nation, it is interesting how for the most part, we locals tend to do the same things at the same time...or so it appears.
A majority of people who enjoy crowds, dancing and a little country music will probably be at InCahoots tonight in Mission Valley. But it you're not one to pay $10 for cover to get a $2 U-Call-It, there are many other alternatives. Don't know how to line dance? Get there early for fun lessons.
Also in Mission Valley... or Downtown or Rancho Bernardo, WingsDay at Hooters where for $6.99, you get 10 boneless wings and a side of fries. And it is Hooters so ask about drink specials, too while you're there.
For something more kid friendly, also in Mission Valley, Dave & Buster's offers games at 1/2 price. It would be perfect if you could get there during their Happy Hour, too for appetizers and drink specials.
Or if you're already Downtown, the ferry goes from one side of the harbor bay to the Coronado Island. Tickets are less than $4.25/person each way (children younger than 3 are free). It'll be cold though because you're on the water. So, dress warm. Enjoy fine dining on the bay at Candelas On the Bay on Wine Wednesday, which is "50% off all bottles of wine," according to their website, www.Candelas-Coronado.com. Just be cognizant of the ferry schedule and boarding times.
There's almost always something going on somewhere. Always remember to ask a local. [Wink and a smile]. See you there.
