Andersen Shines in Multimedia

Multimedia instruction by Andre Andersen makes my day shine! It has been my most rewarding experience with a faculty at Grossmont-Cuyamaca community college. The Business Office Technology 151 online class on Microsoft Outlook 2007 has opened my eyes in the benefits of multimedia communication especially after using the plain vanilla web based email at www.gmail.com. The ease of use and functions of Outlook 2007, taught by Andre, has made my electronic mailing experience a joy instead of a drudgery of having to move my emails without a sort function in gmail.com. Andre has shown me how to sort my emails easily, share my calendar schedule on the Internet and exchange my contact information with online sites such as www.hotmail.com and www.live.com via import and exporting functions. By using online audio/video instruction, Andre has provided the ability of reviewing lectures on how to implement tasks such as creating lists and even using out pictures online via email and the college blackboard at http://bb.gcccd.edu/.
Andre is also active at keeping me informed of important campus events. He sent me an email in October 2009 that allowed me to plan and attend the college fair. My busy schedule would have caused me to miss it otherwise. Andre has used his work experience and training extensively to provide effective online instruction. His resume at www.linkedin.com shows that he has prepared well for his multimedia capabilities. His summary notes: “Experienced distance education/e-learning/web-based instructor, specializing in educational technology, business technology, and office skills. Designed, taught, and managed online courses ranging in complexity from basic keyboarding to information systems. My objective is to educate a diverse range of students and bring the classroom to people in an online format. Strengths include:

Passion for instructional design Advanced communication skills Student availability feedback consistently applauds teachers’ effectiveness Rapidly adaptive to new technology Fluent in Spanish and English Ability to teach and manage multiple online courses concurrently” His specialties include: “Design, implement and teach online & hybrid instructional modules, demonstrating knowledge of and skill in the multimedia development cycle. Design, create and maintain curriculum content, syllabi, assignments, assessments and surveys in various formats. *Advanced knowledge of WebCT CE & Vista, Blackboard, Moodle, Windows 2000, XP & Vista, Microsoft Office 2003 & 2007, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Keyboarding Pro, SAM & TOM, SimNet, and MyITLab.”

Andre has been recommended by Theresa Crossette, a professor at San Diego City College who has worked with him directly:

“Andre has been a great addition to our Computer Business Technology Department at San Diego City College. He is a team player and volunteers whenever possible. He gets along well with colleagues, students, and staff.” March 18, 2008” I recently posted my recommendation for Andre that summarizes one of the joys I’ve had this semester: “Andre teaches the Outlook 2007 web course online and responds very quickly to students' questions. He also uses the multi-media tools on the Internet for teaching very effectively. I enjoy learning more technical aspects of Outlook 2007 from Andre. October 12, 2009”
