Continued from part 1
I went down steps and up steps, and down and up the same ones again (I got a little lost), and along quiet, friendly roads to new steps. A few people were out and about, raking leaves out of the gutters, scraping paint, or walking their dog while still in their jammies (the walker, not the dog!). I grinned and waved enthusiastically at most and they nodded or half-raised their hand in greeting, but left me to my willful wandering.
Some steps were longer than others and had me panting rather aggressively. There were flowers along the way cheering me on. Really! I not only saw them, I could hear them. I think they enjoyed the company.
