710 Beach Club - Jet West - San Diego, CA

On 10/2/2009 in San Diego, CA, our band "Jet West" entertained a local crowd in what was to be a more then sold out show at the infamous 710 Beach Club.

The moon was near full force in Pacific Beach - San Diego, CA. As Pullman Standard was finishing off their set, I snapped a photo of the line 50 deep. I realized that the venue already had around 220 fans and friends alike and we were ready to step it up.

We opened the night with "Sunday" and our first time playing in 710 Beach Club (the old Blind Melons) was a huge success. We added two new songs to the live performance. The first, "Funk", is where Christopher Warner nailed an insane guitar solo while Scott Floquet elevated the crowd with his orchestrated vocals.

The other newbie was the electric "Monkey Love", where Derek Potter engaged the crowd with a jungle like drum patterns. This was our first time playing this song live and it found its way to the center of each fans hearts.

Jet West would not be the same without the crowd favorite, "Mexico". What a better way to melt some faces then with the bass lines of Deren Schneider. Deren also takes the time to reflect on the times that he has had down in Mexico and encourages international travel.

We closed the night off with "It's Over" and again stunned the crowd with a "turn off the light switch" ending.

After the show we unloaded the gear and kicked back to a sick set by another local band "LIKEWIZE".

Good times were indeed had by all...
