The Ole Boombap.
You know: that brunette hair flowing eternal. The dress that drapes like a benevolent nightshade in moonlight. Those fingers detailing theoretical lovers. The story-telling eyes and lipstick smile, and – most of all – those hips!
Soft shoes tapping passions, congas, the chicken-licken scratch of turntable, flamencolic outbursts of guitar, electronic beats that make your ass feel young and enterprising.
This is Subsuelo.

The Los Angeles collective (voted this year’s "Best Party in East LA" by LA Weekly) will be grooving beyond their free monthly to throw a one-off dance party at Til-Two Club (4746 El Cajon Boulevard, City Heights) on Friday, October 18.
Promoter and Earth beat powerhouse Markus “Mawkus” Rosario - host of Jazz 88.3's One World and funk-monkey behind monthly love-fi night Sweet Cheeks at Bar Dynamite - calls Subsuelo, “a global bass DJ crew and live band that brings together flamenco, cumbia, hip-hop, tropical funk and Latin dance music.”

If that weren’t enough, Mawkus is bringing in local SD favorites Cumbia Machin and Dub Dynamite's 10-year-trooper Eddie Turbo to complete the bill.
$5 with RSVP at [email protected] - free before 10 - $8 at the door.
