Tape Deck Mountain recently announced the pending release of their sophomore album, Sway, which is due out later this year on core member Travis Trevisan's nineteen98 imprint.
The first single, Always Lie, premiered on music blog Pitchfork a couple of weeks ago, garnering a timely My Bloody Valentine reference for the track’s narcotic layers of shoegaze fuzz.
The 11-song Sway was mostly written during Trevisan’s year-long stay in Austin, Texas and was finalized at American Sound Studios in San Diego.
Trevisan is now living in Queens, New York, working at a coffee shop and raising money for the physical release of the album.
The band aims to raise $4000 via IndieGoGo by Saturday, June 15 with the hopes of printing the album on 180 gram vinyl.
“The hard part is over, all the songs are recorded and done,” Trevisan writes on IndieGoGo.
“We just need some help in getting the album released in proper fashion! We are looking to raise 4000 to get the album produced in a physical format and some other loose ends (Mastering, Promotion, Etc.)
“If we raised the full amount we will be print the album on Vinyl, CD, & Cassette! Along with giving it a proper mastering job and promotion campaign, bringing it to the masses!”
As of this writing, the campaign has raised $605.
