Carlsbad Music Festival: Village Walk seeks San Diego musicians

The third annual Village Walk features performers of all genres in intimate Carlsbad venues.

Attention musicians!

The ninth annual Carlsbad Music Festival want to pay your act to perform at the Village Walk on Friday, September 20.

Any artist of any style from San Diego County can apply for a 20-minute performance in a Village venue for a flat fee of $50 per musician (up to 4 musicians per ensemble).

“Artists are welcome to play additional sets if they choose, but doing so will not affect the artist’s fee,” the website notes (submission guidelines).

But what about your experimental 100-member Casiotone ensemble or interactive sound art installation?

It’s all good! Just send a proposal to Clint Davis at: [email protected]

For the past three years, the Festival’s Village Walks have drawn crowds of over 1,000 visitors for “an evening of short performances in intimate venues and storefronts within a walkable portion of the Carlsbad Village. At any point in the evening there will be at least 4 performances happening around the village, giving audiences the opportunity to wander freely through the neighborhood.”

This year’s Carlsbad Music Festival from September 20 – 22 features performances from:

Roomful of Teeth • Steven Schick • Claire Chase • Calder Quartet • Peter Sprague with Gilbert Castellanos • Caroline Shaw • Steven Mackey • Mattson 2 • Trouble in the Wind • Matt McBane • Nathan Hubbard/Passengers • Son de San Diego • What’s Next? Ensemble • ensemble et cetera • Scott Worthington • Ian Rosenbaum • Christopher Cerrone • and many more TBA

Tickets are $100 (early-bird) until August 17.
