The folks behind Tijuana’s All My Friends Music Festival have teamed up with Goldenvoice to offer a round-trip party bus to the 10th annual, two-day FYF Fest in Los Angeles.
The bus will take off from Plaza Rio in Tijuana on Saturday, August 24, make a stop to pick up passengers in downtown San Diego, then continue up to the festival in Los Angeles.
$175 includes a ride on the party bus, a ticket to the festival, and lodging at the Hollywood Inn, located three miles from the venue (L.A. State Historic Park).
Space is limited to 15 people, so contact [email protected] ASAP to reserve a seat.
BY THE WAY, have you seen the lineup for FYF this year?!
She’s a doozy, so let’s stick with the highlights.
First off, San Diego’s own spacebug grindoids The Locust were recently added to the bill after playing I’ll Be Your Mirror in London last May.
The festival – curated by Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Grizzly Bear – was the band’s first show in four years, and I know I’m not the only one who can’t wait to see what sort of mutant appendages the quartet has grown since their last full-length release in 2007, New Erections.

On a more melodic note, The Breeders will be playing their 1993 hit album Last Splash in its entirety with a hearty dollop of #nostalgiasauce.

Oh, and – dude!bro!dude! – My Bloody Valentine finally pulled their faces out of the molly bag long enough to drop their first album in 12 years with the February release of m b v.
It sounds exactly like their 1991 masterpiece Loveless, which is great. Progress is overrated. Crank up the fuzzbox!

With any luck, experimental hip hop crushers Death Grips won’t decide to bail at the last minute.

Who doesn’t love Yo La Tengo?

And freaking Chk Chk Chk.

Believe it or not, Washed Out has material besides the Portlandia theme song.
But it’s still the best.

Los Angeles beatsmiths Nosaj Thing and Shlohmo are worth the trip alone.

And dark drone-folk duchess Chelsea Wolfe is nothing short of enchanting.
