Tijuana/Las Vegas freak folk troubadour Late Nite Howl (Paul Dodero) recently released his debut, self-titled EP.
Evoking Syd Barrett circa Madcap Laughs, a minimalist Nick Drake, and the more haunting aspects of Mark Kozelek, the Late Nite Howl EP was recorded in Dodero’s personal studio and is available on iTunes, latenitehowl.com, and Mexico’s experimental music web-label, Myrdal.
The EP is also found on Tijuana's independent cassette-only label, Prima Crush, and includes an exclusive bonus remix of “Confess” by Gabriel Duprat, synth frontman of Tijuana dream-pop duo Ibi Ego and shoegazers Shantelle.
The video for EP track “Days Have Gone” is a nostalgic collection of vintage Super 8 footage from a family picnic which director Jesus Vasquez found in a rummage pile outside of a photography store.
