Today, ANTI- (sister label to Epitaph Records) released a compilation featuring 44 rare tracks from the early nymph stages (pre-Epitaph, that is) of sci-fi mathcore arthropods The Locust.

In concurrence with the release of Molecular Genetics from the Gold Standard Labs, Three One G Records (co-owned by The Locust bassist/vox Justin Pearson) is offering discounts on two Locust-related items until August 6.
The Follow the Flock, Step in Shit EP contains two tracks from the band’s split 5″ EP with Jenny Piccolo, and “Red” from the Cry Now, Cry Later Vol. 4 compilation. The CD is in the shape of a square embossed with the Locust’s trademark one-winged logo.
This is Circumstantial Evidence features live footage from Three One G bands including Moving Units, Jenny Piccolo, Get Hustle, Cattle Decapitation, Swing Kids, Love Life, Orthrelm, The Locust, and The Blood Brothers.
The DVD includes studio tracks from all of the bands as well as a booklet of live photos.

Inaugurated in 1994, The Locust have evolved from identifiable roots in powerviolence and grindcore to their own chaotic brand of synthy, blastbeated weirdcore.
Early incarnations of the band included Jimmy LaValle (Tristeza, Album Leaf, GoGoGo Airheart, Crimson Curse), David Astor (Cattle Decapitation), and Dave Warshaw & Dylan Scharf, both of whom would go on to form Tarantula Hawk.
Current members of the de-facto on-hiatus outfit (their last release was the New Erections LP in 2007) are Pearson (Retox, All Leather, Holy Molar, Crimson Curse, Swing Kids, Some Girls, etc. etc. etc.), Bobby Bray (Holy Molar, Henk, Innerds), Joey Karam (Skinwalker, One Day As A Lion, Le Shok), and Gabe Serbian (Retox, Rats Eyes, Le Butcherettes, Holy Molar, Cattle Decapitation).
