First-Ever U.S. Show For Italian Alt-Metal Band Klogr Jan. 19 @Eleven

A relatively new Italian alt-metal group named Klogr will be playing their very first U.S. show right here in San Diego on Thursday, January 19, at Eleven.

Klogr (pronounced Kay-log-are) released their debut CD Till You Decay this month on Valery Records.

The band describes the full-length as “an alternative rock/metal album in which both the instrumental and the vocal lines are delivered very heavily at times and more melodic at other times, creating the sound of Klogr.”

“The album is based on the concept that the society around us controls us, judges us, conditions us, and ultimately suffocates us. A psychological game of massacre, control and power over the masses, in which they use fear and anxieties to destabilize a person into something more fragile, more controllable and more subservient. ‘Till you decay.”

Klogr's name is a reference to the law of Weber-Fechner, known as the fundamental psychophysical relationship (S=K log R). The group just recently made its live debut on November 11, and its inaugural U.S. tour will take them from San Diego up through Northern CA, Washington, and Oregon (dates below).

The band is led by Gabriele “Rusty” Rustichelli (producer at ZetaFactory, former guitarist for SensAzionE) along with Rusty (vocals and guitars). Other Italian/American members include guitarist Nicola Briganti (Lena's Baedream), bassist Todd Allen (Beside Myself), and drummer Filippo De Pietri.

We’ll be talking to the band on their arrival in San Diego this week, to get their first impressions at their first American concert. Here’s their video “Bleeding,” kind of a Queensryche-Rage Against the Machine style track with more than a passing nod to And Justice For All-era Metallica, both sonically and visually:
