Last November, musician/promoter Michael Mannino and friend Arian Banki threw a party called Inner Vibration at a private residence near Vista in celebration of an electronic musician and close friend, Preston Grover, who passed away in June.
Golden Vortex // NYE 2010 - 2011 by Preston Grover
"I was really inspired by Preston’s influence on me as a person,” says Mannino. “That inspiration has really led me to love myself and open up, and open up others as well. He helped me realize and recognize my potential. He’s done that for so many people, I feel that I want to put something together that recognizes that. To remind people how wonderful they are.”
Inner Vibration featured a long day of yoga, playshops, and ecstatic dance parties facilitated by Mannino, Alex Ortiz, Osal8, Nikroma Aragon, Tropo, and Kaminanda.
Read more about the event, the first under the banner of Mannino’s self-actualization foundation RealEyes Events, in next week’s Crasher.

“RealEyes is the vision that I am carrying from Preston’s inspirations to help others 'realeyes' their true potential as human beings,” says Mannino. “These events will aim to raise awareness by bringing people together and allowing them to understand their 'Resonance' as beings and know how they effect those around them and themselves."
Check your vibe with the inaugural Resonance night tomorrow at the Kava Lounge.
The jungle/groovy house/techno/downtempo lineup features:
Ryan Orey 9-10 Jungle
Alexander Holden 10-11 ElectriCocoon
Andre Holguin 11-12 ElectriCocoon
Michael Mannino 12-1 ElectriCocoon
Mikey Lion 1-2 Jungle
A portion of the minimum $5 donation will benefit local artist Jeremy Robinson.
“[Donations are] for things like stolen computers, lost artwork, broken controllers,” says Mannino. “[We want] to help these artists get back on their feet to do what they love to do through these small charity based events.”
