Saturday, May 28: Featuring over a dozen bands and DJs, the Remember: Mnemonic Muzic Marathon runs all day, from noon to after midnight, at RT's Longboard Grill, one of the most ambitions events ever launched by the PB venue. Sprung Monkey and Superunloader will headline.
"The remember title is two meanings," Barfly Promotions' Shawn Balch tell the Reader, "in that we are hooking fans and bands up with a lot of promo material, so they will leave with something to remember the day by, as well as remembering those who have died for their country, as we pay tribute each Memorial Day."
Balch has been promoting the Friday night events at Longboard's for over a year, but the Remember festival is by far his biggest event to be held there. "This is an important gig for me to get my company better known."
"We're going to be doing a lot of these shows, including some big festivals at the Indian reservations, coming up over the next year."
Here's the schedule, which will include between-set DJs like Chuck "Mean Hands" Prada:
12-12:40 -- Broken Stems
1-1:40 -- Soul Ablaze
2-2:40 -- Social Club
3-3:40 -- Danny & The Tramp
4:10-4:50 -- Subliminal Trip
5:10-5:50 -- Habitat
6:10-6:50 -- Zig-Zag Jones
7:10-7:50 -- Full Blown Stone
8:10-8:50 -- Bedford Grove
