Bunnymen, Red Flag, New Order Sill Raging on New 91.3 FM Show

Launched in March, VarioRadio is a semi-independent radio and internet streaming music once labeled "alternative", "industrial", "new wave", "goth", "Euro", "post-modern", etc. “We concentrate on current artists whose work shows influences of that '80s and '90s music,” says Station Manager John Fox, “while including some of that formative work from time to time as well.”

This music, however, is not widely played on major/commercial radio stations, and therefore the listener base may be relatively small.

“VarioRadio strives to give these artists a platform to be heard and appreciated, while also giving the music's current fans an opportunity to hear work they may not otherwise be able to hear,” says Fox.

Sample playlist performers include New Order (etc.), Depeche Mode, OMD, Camouflage, Erasure, Ministry, Echo And The Bunnymen, Pet Shop Boys, The Cure, The Jesus And Mary Chain, VNV Nation, Seabound, Assemblage 23, (Clan Of) Xymox, Iris, De/Vision, Cause And Effect, Red Flag, and State Of The Union.

VarioRadio is on the air, at 91.3 FM in North County, and streaming online every Thursday night from 10:00 PM to 12:00 AM – the station stream can be found at http://www.facebook.com/pages/VarioRadio/187116757995564
