Gregory Page is the subject of a new documentary that will be screened at Lestat’s on Friday June 17. Produced and released by the Snapshots Music and Arts Foundation, the footage was shot in La Jolla during a live show at the Athenaeum. Snapshots is a San Diego-based nonprofit devoted to documenting the life and music of jazz, classical, crossover, and electronic music artists. Previous locals profiled include flutist Holly Hoffman, Celino Romero, jazz pianist Mike Wofford, and trumpet meister Gilbert Castellanos. Following the Lestat’s screening, the Page-umentary will be published online and will be archived in the Library of Congress. Jonathan Bewley is the Executive Director of the Foundation. “Why choose Gregory Page? Greg is a unique artist with his own sound and someone we will likely see on Blue Note or Columbia records soon enough.” So, who’s next? Bewely’s not saying, but his videos can be screened at www.snapshotsfoundation.com
