“Right now, our singer Spencer Rabin has been going to art school in San Francisco,” says Anthony Levas by phone from his home in Bankers Hill. “When he comes down here on break, we cram in time to record or work on songs.” Levas says they have another EP of demos ready to go. “We’re working on lining up time with Jon Greene [Crocodiles] to produce in August.”
Single Screen Records (“We got to know them over several beers a couple of years ago.”) released Little Deadman’s first digital EP Shooting Seagulls and their follow-up 7”. Single Screen is a San Diego label owned by Jackson Milgaten from Cuckoo Chaos.
After finishing the new EP, Levas says Little Deadman will book a September tour. Why then? “That’s when Spencer can take a break from school." Brian Dall and Tyson Wirtzfeld complete the lineup. Their reverb and echo-steeped sound is California proto-punk and more. Think Jesus and Mary Chain, Bob Dylan, and New Order, but all in one band. “It’s eclectic,” says Levas, “but we’re trying to tie it all together.”
