The lineup for the seventh annual Switchfoot Bro-Am has been announced. The Howls, the Romany Rye, the Silent Comedy, and Jon Foreman and Friends will play the Grammy Award-winning hometown rocker’s Hurley-sponsored surf contest/beach concert Saturday, June 18th at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas.
Since 2005 the Bro-Am, originally conceived by Switchfoot has raised more than $400,000 for San Diego-based children's charities. Last year's event was the most successful to date. Over 7,500 attendees raised more than $135,000 for the local chapters of StandUp For Kids, a non-profit volunteer outreach that benefits homeless teens.
The Bro-Am is all green. Power for the sound and staging will be supplied again this year via the latest solar-powered concert support gear from Sustainable Waves, a San Diego-based company.
Admission to the beach event is free but not for the 9pm post-concert after-party at the Belly Up Tavern. Tickets are $20adv/$25dos to see Johnny Rzeznik (Goo Goo Dolls), Fiction Family, Little Hurricane, and Switchfoot.
