The Del Mar Summer Concert series started in 1994 and has since hosted 128 free (for race attendees, $20 otherwise) concerts including Cake, Weezer, ZZ Top, Billy Idol, Gnarls Barkley, Ziggy Marley, Matisyahu, Violent Femmes, Jason Mraz, and Jack Johnson.
I've caught Sonic Youth and the Flaming Lips in years past, and they gave me new-found hope in humanity.
Concerts are now held in the new Seaside Stage.
