Sorry folks, but America’s Finest Beer Festival has been canceled at the last moment.
The three-day grog n’ music get-together, from this Friday 22 thru Sunday 24, was billed as “the largest brew festival in southern California.”
It was supposed to be held at Qualcomm Stadium’s practice field.
Alas, a frantic letter was uploaded this afternoon by Valerie Harrison saying that “due to…an unforeseen financial shortfall…we are devastated and forced to cancel the event..."
“We did everything and more to promote the event, which included [a] nearly $110,000 media campaign…The saddest part is that at-the-gate ticket sales for the event would have covered all the festival expenses.”
Say what? Not quite sure then why they couldn’t have bridged the financial gap, in that case.
Whatever, dry throats all weekend, folks, and no excuse not to do the laundry/homework/relationship fixing.
But doo-doo happens. Sympathies to everyone who spent the last five months trying to make something beautiful happen. You can just feel their pain.
