“It’s that altruistic beauty of the underground that rarely makes it to the mainstream,” says Wobble Events promoter Bryen Beglinger. “The mainstream is all about being treated like cattle by bouncers herding you in to buy $13 drinks and listen to crappy, out-dated house music. There’s something else out there.”
In March, Beglinger gave his answer to stale Gaslamp nightlife with Wobble Events’ first show at Spin Nightclub featuring Kraddy, Treavor Moontribe, and Bassmechanic.
Wobble has since brought acts such as Tipper, David Starfire, Eskmo, and, this month, Mimosa, Elite Force, and DJ Wolfie, among others.
The July 30 show is a benefit for the Opulent Temple camp at Burning Man.
“They’re one of my enduring memories from my first time at Burning Man,” Beglinger says. “It blew my mind, seeing Stanton Warriors and Paul Oakenfield on the same stage. L.A.’s fundraiser is a white party, so we’re doing a dark party.”
The Facebook event encourages you to “wear your darkest, dirtiest, playaliciously perverse best.”
“Wobble is creating a vibe,” Beglinger says. “[We] bring everything.”
As such, expect breathtaking visuals, aerial performances, pole acrobatics, hooping, massages, belly dancers, altars, body painting, and surprises.
Tickets are $20 presale tier 1, and $25 tier 2.
