No doubt surfing the cosmic adumbrations of Saturday morning’s lunar eclipse (yeah, I slept through it, too), tomorrow holds not only one of my favorite experimental monthlies (Liquid Geometry Presents), not only my other favorite experimental monthly (Makeout Weird), but it’s also my BIRTHDAY!
That’s correct! 27 long years on God’s Good Earth, and to celebrate I’ll be wearing my new bunny suit to one or both (designated driver please) of these magickal occasions.
“This month, Liquid Geometry is spreading the Christmas cheer by serving up some vegetarian delights along with a mix of San Diego's hottest up and coming beat producers,” says Theo Adams, a promoter with the experimental future beat collective. “Join us as Liquid Geometry thanks it's supporters for a year of sweaty, brainhair shaving madness with a big bowl of local delight.”
Tomorrow night’s bowl will be packed to the brim with dank sonic budlings from local beat freaks Neat Beats, Room E, Mac Digi (who will be celebrating the release of his Digi Step LP), Kurly Burrito, and Malta
Hors d'oeuvres, lysergic projections by Wind Spirit, and live art by Duckman.

“Nicey Nice World is truly one of San Diego’s most unique bands and rest assured that this is not a loose lipped usage of the term ‘unique,’” writes Bobby Bray, who curates Makeout Weird with accomplice Monsterpussy.
“This 3 piece of creative supernovas have more than paid their dues in experimental music and the sound/vibe/frequency they emit conveys a sort of assured comfortableness with this surreal / dada-esk dimension in which we all reside. The instruments involved include cello, theremin, and smart phone apps used to play what they call “unlearned” songs, which are different every time they play them. The terms stream of consciousness, psychedelic electro, and harmonious experimental come to mind.”
A collaboration between James Call (organ, theremin, percussion) of The Penetrators, Joyce Rooks (cello, electronics, voice) of the Penetrators and Cockpits, and Marcelo Radulovich (electronics, voice, noisemakers) of Playground Slap, Nicey Nice World writes on their website:
“We make unlearned music. And insofar as it's possible, unplanned. We are bound only by the physical limitations of our instruments. We never practice. We only perform. We embrace accidents, glitches and equipment failure; which rather than impede, inspire. We are thrilled by the instantaneous immediacy of happenstance. This design without intent is anything but random. Instead, we believe we thus find a superior pathway to serendipity. We trust that some of you will too. We are Nicey Nice World.”

DJ Soltonic will be playing a set involving Dub Dub Dublove and resident DJs Freak Sauce (Bray) and Mnstrpsy will be holding down the floor whilst blowing off the roof with a hyperdimensional hodge-podge of dance, punk, electro, and lizard step.
Recent San Diego transplant (ex-Baylien) Sarah Brown will be showing art along with Italian born artist Anna Zappoli, who has a series of pieces selected specifically for the event.
