Who is the "land use expert" Michael J. Pallamary behind the Filner recall campaign?

When you follow the money behind the "recall Filner" campaign the results are chilling. The trail leads to Michael Pallamary, a prominent "land use expert". He has been the big voice behind the campaign to recall Mayor Filner which began before any sex scandals emerged and was officially launched today.

Pallamary has said he will be start collecting recall petition signatures Aug. 18.

But who is Michael J. Pallamary and why is he so interested in getting Filner out?

Michael J. Pallamary is a Professional Land Surveyor. He is an expert in land planning, and land use consultation among other things, all things that would suggest this move is a coup by the developers that have run San Diego for decades.

Pallamary founded the Land Surveyors Advisory Council on Technical Standards (LSACTS), and he owned and operated Precision Survey & Mapping from 1983 to 1999. He currently is the owner and President of Land Survey Service of La Jolla since 1983 and is "recognized as the preeminent authority on the redevelopment of property in La Jolla and San Diego's coastal regions" per his website. And that may be the key.

There are billions of dollars to be made by booting Filner especially in coastal areas which have lower densities and higher environmental regulations.

His firm specializes in land use litigation and the processing of complex land use permits (hmmm what could be more "complex" than Balboa park?)

Pallamary was also a member of the City of San Diego's Board of Zoning Appeals. He was Chairman of the Clairemont Mesa Planning Group, and a member of the North Bay Project Area Committee and an appointed member of the Mission Bay Park Committee and Mission Bay Park Planners.

So Michael is a BIG player in the development world of San Diego with a lot of interest in ensuring that he can continue to develop San Diego with out any obstacles from the public.

Our fragile coastline will undoubtedly be exploited by greedy developers who will totally disregard the importance of our environment if they can boot Filner out.

People really better think twice about this effort, who is behind it and why?

Please come join the campaign to demand Due Process for Filner. There is far too much at stake.

The campaign to oust Filner strangely began as early as April-May of 2013
