Officers were dispatched to investigate a report of a shooting. They found the victim on the sidewalk at a bus stop, suffering from gunshot wounds. Paramedics attempted life-saving procedures, but the victim died at the scene. He has been identified as Jamal Gordon-Hill, 21, from Encanto.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that Jamal and a female companion were standing on the north sidewalk of El Cajon Boulevard when “a black Dodge Charger or Magnum” slowed. The driver stared at the couple before driving away, according to Lt. Kevin Rooney of the SDPD.
Later, the suspect driver approached the couple on foot and exchanged words with the victim. The suspect pulled out a handgun and shot the victim. The suspect then fled to the black car, which was parked on Central Avenue just north of El Cajon Boulevard.
The suspect is described as a black male, 21, five foot eight, short afro, wearing a black sweatshirt and blue shorts.
