Murder Under the Morena Bridge
Bum fight has fatal end.
5405 Napa Street, Morena Neighborhood
February 23, 8: 15 p.m.
SDPD
A male called the police and reported that there was an injured person in the riverbed across from Napa Street.
Officers and paramedics located the male victim, Jimmy Provincio, 47, on Friars road, west of Napa beneath the Morena Boulevard Bridge. The body appeared to have multiple stab wounds. CPR was attempted but the male victim died at the scene. He was an apparent transient.
Preliminary investigation reveals that the victim was involved in a fight with an unknown suspect in the river bed at 5300 Friars Road.
“During the altercation, the victim was stabbed several times by an unknown object,” says Lt. Terry McManus of the SDPD Homicide Unit.
The victim has not yet been identified. He is a white male in his early 40s.
The suspect, Marin Abramson, 47, turned himelf into police Sunday, February 25.
