Road workers saw a body lying off the intersection exchange of I-5 and SR-54 in National City. They flagged down a California Highway Patrol unit to report the find.
The section of the freeway was closed for a few hours as homicide investigators came in and the medical examiner’s office retrieved the body of what appears to be a middle-aged male.
Authorities state that the circumstances look suspicious. The identity of the body is not yet known.
