Elderly woman struck and killed.
Grand Avenue and Ohio Avenue, Escondido November 22, 12:33 p.m. Escondido PD 33.127955, -117.063515
A Ford Crown Victoria sedan struck a 94-year-old female pedestrian. Paramedics arrived on the scene and began providing medical treatment. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses and evidence indicated the elderly woman was walking eastbound on Grand Avenue in the middle of the number two traffic lane. A witness saw her and stopped to help her out of the road. Before the witness could assist, a Hidden Valley Security Services vehicle traveling eastbound on Grand struck and killed the woman.
The woman was a resident at the Palomar Heights Care facility on Ohio Avenue.
The driver was not injured.
The investigation is ongoing.
