And of the 16 leagues in the section only two of them feature teams with winning records from top-to-bottom – the Grossmont Hills League and the Coastal League. Of those two leagues, the Grossmont Hills League features three Top 10 teams – No. 2 Helix, No. 8 Steele Canyon and No. 9 Grossmont. Combine a 24-6 preseason record with school size and rivalries, and that’s what makes the Grossmont Hills League the best in the section this season. Expect big games in the East County for the rest of the season courtesy of this league and for this realigned league to have a strong presence in Divisions I and II come playoff time.
