The Cougars have been dominant so far in wins over Calexico, Orange Glen and El Camino and Rancho Bernardo. Through their first three games, Escondido’s offense has averaged 53 points per game and their defense pitched consecutive shutouts to start the season. Offensively the Cougars are all about the ground game, and junior running back Ricky Seale already has 52 carries for 529 yards and seven touchdowns through three games. Seale’s companion, junior back Tim Zier is averaging 14.7 yards per carry and has scored nine touchdowns.
