San Diego County's unemployment rate in February was 10.1%, down from a revised 10.4% in January and below the year-ago 10.6%. This compared with California's 12.3% and the nation's 9.5% over the same period, according to the state Employment Development Department. Between January and February, the county gained 4,700 jobs. The biggest winner was professional and business services, up 1,800. Consistent with rising tourism numbers, leisure and hospitality jobs were up 1,700 and educational and health services up 1,200. Compared with February a year ago, nonfarm jobs were up 19,100. Again, professional and business services led with a gain of 10,700.
