My earlier post was wrong. I reported this morning that an Employment Development Department WARN report indicated the Union-Tribune was laying off 192 workers July 6. However, that 192 listed for July 6 actually reflects 192 who were laid off in May and paid through July 6. The San Diego Workforce Partnership reports that it has received no more WARN notices of pending layoffs from the U-T, and suspects the 192 listed for July 6 are the ones let go in May. Although I hedged myself on the first post, saying that there might be some kind of clerical glitch, I apologize for the post. Best, Don Bauder
