I am learning of Rancho Bernardo residents whose homes, or neighborhoods, went up in flames without a prior warning from the highly-touted reverse 911 system or any other official method, other than friendly neighbors. Also, residents wonder why Mayor Jerry Sanders held a press conference at 11 p.m. Sunday and warned that the fire would hit San Pasqual at 1:30 a.m. But Sanders did not mention Rancho Bernardo, areas of which would be going up in flames by 4 a.m. Unfortunately, the mayor's office has chosen not to comment. Best, Don Bauder
