There’s more to sushi than California rolls, globs of mock wasabi, and too much soy sauce.
Unroll the history and traditions of this Japanese staple with Asian fusion eatery RA Sushi (474 Broadway – Downtown), who will be holding their first Sushi & Sake 101 class on Saturday, September 21.
Starting at 1 p.m., RA’s chefs will be leading an interactive course in the art of rolling up a fatty with a crash course in sushi history and tips on pairing rolls with various types of sake.
“As you know, there is an art to making sushi,” the press release reads.
“RA is very contemporary and still actively pays tribute to that.”
Equally suited for couples or solo enthusiasts, Sushi & Sake 101 is available in two packages: $40 per person for sushi and a sake flight, or $35 per person for just sushi.
Both packages also include appetizers such as nigiri, miso soup, and edamame, as well as a non-alcoholic drink and a complimentary lunch card for a return visit.
Registration is required at 619-321-0021 or [email protected].
