Three-Way Dinners' inaugural meal at Cusp

The first of three dinners from this new chef series has the head chefs from Jsix, Cusp, and Saltbox cooking together.

Peas are often that vegetable you corral to the side of your plate, walling it in by mashed potatoes so as not to infiltrate your main course.

Thursday, March 14, however, peas have been picked to be the seasonal building block used to make a three-course culinary experience which will be composed by three different head chefs, all hailing from separate restaurants.

This new chef series, coined Three-Way Dinners, will take its turn at each of the participating chef's respective restaurants, with the first one being held at 7 p.m. at Cusp Dining & Drinks (7955 La Jolla Shores Drive) located on the 11th floor of Hotel La Jolla.

Chefs Donald Lockhart of Cusp Dining & Drinks, Christian Graves of Jsix, and Simon Dolinky of Saltbox Dining & Drinking are the aforementioned three who'll be making magic in the kitchen together.

Each chef will be responsible for constructing a different course using a pre-chosen seasonal ingredient.

This time around Chef Graves will be responsible for the appetizer, with Chef Lockhart tackling the main course, and Chef Dolinky preparing the dessert.

In August, tomatoes will take center stage with the dinner being held at Jsix while in November it will be squash at Saltbox.

$35 will get you into this delicious three-way action.

Reserve your spot for the first dinner on Thursday by calling Cusp Dining & Drinks at 858-551-3620.
