Saturday, November 3
12 p.m. – 10 Years of Great Beers In addition to celebrating San Diego Beer Week, Green Flash Brewing Company (6550 Mira Mesa Boulevard, Mira Mesa) is toasting 10 years in the beer biz. Each day they’ll have one of the 10 different anniversary beers they’ve offered over the last decade on tap. They’re mum on which one will be on each day, so make plans to stop by often during this beery 10-day.
12 p.m. – Ballast Point on the Waterfront One of the best things to witness during Beer Week is a heavy craft beer presence, particularly from singular standout breweries, at some of San Diego’s most popular bars and restaurants. Case in point, venerable watering hole and center for burger craftsmanship, The Waterfront (2044 Kettner Boulevard, Little Italy), offering 14 beers from Ballast Point Brewing & Spirits.
12 p.m. – Mother Pucker Sour Day Even at the best craft beer bars, you’d be hard pressed to find more than a few sour brews on at one time. But, for one special day, long-time suds destination O’Brien’s Pub (4646 Convoy Street, Kearny Mesa) will have dozens of lambics, gueuzes, Flanders reds and the like on tap and in bottle. Belly up, pucker up, and enjoy!
1 p.m. – San Diego Brewers Guild Festival You hear it all the time—San Diego is the craft brewing capital of the country. Come to Broadway Pier (1000 North Harbor Drive, Downtown) and see why at this event exclusively featuring every brewing company in the county. Over 100 beers will be on tap in tandem with food from local brewpubs and the San Diego Brewers Guild’s Allied Pubs.
