Tomorrow: Bike to Brunch

Tomorrow, if anyone feels so inclined, it's Bikes n' Brunch at the Pearl Hotel on Rosecrans Street. The deal is as follows: ride your bike and take $10 off the price (usually $22.50) of brunch, which comes with endless mimosas.

Actually, the offer is available to bikers on the last Sunday of every month, but I highly suspect that tomorrow is going to be a staggeringly beautiful morning to take a bike ride. What better way to be rewarded for such labors than to get half-smashed on mimosas?

Brunch options include ricotta and banana french toast, steak and eggs, chicken and bacon waffles, and an omelet with nova lox. Everything is available without the mimosas for a reduced price, of course, but a little cocktail napkin math reveals a wonderful equation whereby (price of brunch) + (bottomless mimosa) - (bike discount) = (price of brunch a la carte). You know what I see there? Free booze!

That's right, effectively free drinks just for riding a bike. It's about time! Puff up the tires on the sweet fixie, or the Dutch masterpiece with the basket on the handle bars, or maybe that $6,000 carbon bike with full Super Record if you should be so lucky, and get out there, soak up a little sun, and spin on down. It doesn't come with the brunch deal, but it looks like the Pearl has a cocktail with bourbon and coffee beans in it if you feel too sleepy.

Brunch is served on Sundays from 10AM-2PM, poolside, at the Pearl Hotel in Point Loma (619-226-6100).
