A Peek at the Beer List from the Final Real Ale Festival

Last month, I shared the bittersweet news (bitter because there was hoppy beer involved, sweet because it meant San Diego’s beer scene has come a long way) that, after 15 years of cask-conditioned memories, the organizers behind Pizza Port’s Real Ale Festival decided to pull the plug on the annual event.

With cask beer (aka—real ale) available throughout the county, festival headmen and local brewers Tom Nickel and Jeff Bagby have decided to funnel their collective energy into festivals celebrating other facets of the craft beer universe. But, not without rolling out the barrels one last time.

I recently scored an advance copy of the list of offerings for the Real Ale Festival, which will take place this weekend with sessions from 4 to 11 p.m. on Friday (with a VIP session from 1 to 4 p.m.), and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday. That list is included below in the name of informed consumerism and beer voyeurism. Click here to purchase tickets.
