Real-life Spanish food (as opposed to "global tapas", "small plates," etc.) is an endangered species here. Cafe Sevilla does a reasonably nice job with both the little and the big bites. (The basement nightclub in the old place no doubt supported the quality of the food upstairs. Yes, that'll come back at the new location, too.)
Last fall, Cafe Sevilla shut down to move to new renovated quarters (still in the Gaslamp). It's taken longer than they expected, but they're reopening at the end of this month.
Wanna party? Cafe Sevilla's Grand Opening Party is on Wednesday, June 29.
New location at 353 Fifth Avenue. 7pm to 10pm, with refreshments and live entertainment. Tickets: $25 per person. All proceeds benefit local nonprofit It's All About The Kids. http://www.ItsAllAboutTheKids.org/tickets
