The weekend is upon us, and you know what that means -- time to figure out where you're meeting your crew for dim sum on Sunday. My go-to place has always been Emerald, but some friends have been converting me into a Jasmine lover. Both are on Convoy, the mecca for great Asian food (also home to my beloved Tofu House).
For your visual enjoyment, here are some shots from our recent Sunday-mid-morning sojourn to Jasmine, which has some tasty picks on those carts that I've yet to see at Emerald. Those of you familiar with the dim sum experience know that as soon as your butts hit the seat, the cart-pushers are upon you with their steamy offerings.
Katie and Jordan began to wake up after a few sips of tea.
Here are some dumplings, first a chicken-filled fried dough ball (yum), then a banana leaf packed with sticky rice and all kinds of savory meats such as sausage and pork, and my favorite, the dessert-y stuff, like pineapple buns and those sesame-covered nummies filled with red bean paste. Aw, yeah.
A happy dim sum table.
Another table enjoying the fare.
One thing I love about Jasmine, though I didn't order any this time (way too full) is that they offer Boba tea! Now who doesn't love that? Wait, I take that back, I'm sure there's somebody who'd not into it. But I am, so there.
