Baja & Border News Translations: PAN Deputies have Citizen Forum; Call Popular Insurance Toll-Free

PAN Deputies have Citizen Forum (Tijuana Press, 1/23/13 by Daniel Angel)

Tijuana, BC - Some of the 114 Pan legislators began work Tuesday in what will be their agenda for the next session, met Wednesday to discuss the Security of the State authorities. This forum was called Security, Citizen Participation and Crime Prevention, where according to the Secretary of State Public Security, Daniel de la Rosa Anaya, the legislators expressed their interest in knowing more about the head figure of the single command.

He recalled that this figure in the State, lies with military Region II and has only functioned as the result of a political agreement between authorities since 2007. "The approach can be consolidated but legally it only exists through will or good intentions", commented the Secretary in an interview prior to the start of the Forum.

In criticism made by the Attorney General's Office (PGR), Jesús Murillo Karam on the figure’s roots and the possibility that legislators had amended it, his view is that it a delicate situation because there are criminals who have no defense against the commands arrest warrants. The roots have been criticized because they consider a person detained for a certain period of time subject to investigation and searched for potential liabilities, while the Constitution guarantees the principle of innocence.

There were also forums discussed on other issues, such as transparency and accountability, an electronic frontier, law and culture and the administration of the concentration of water in Baja California. http://www.tijuanapress.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=8770:diputados-panistas-hacen-foros-con-la-ciudadania&catid=1:locales&Itemid=50
