2 Arrested for Homicide (El Mexicano, 1/24/13 by Marco A. Flores Mancilla/Fernando Escobedo)

ENSENADA, BC - A young man, 19, identified as Javier Rios Aispuro, a high school student, was shot dead a few minutes ago on Calla Álamos de Valle Verde.

According to the first available data, four subjects - two adults and two minors in a 2002 KIA with California plates 4VAN782 came from the home of the young man where one of them had unloaded a 9mm caliber pistol. The truck was abandoned on Calle Guadalupe between Calles Primera and Segunda where a strong police operation was mounted. Unofficially it became known that two people were arrested there.

Apparently the deceased is originally from Sinaloa and had lived in Ensenada for four months. Municipal and ministerial elements have mounted operations at various places in the city, such as Calle Primera and Bulevar Costero. It is believed the attackers fled on Bulevar Terán Terán.

It was learned that the father of the murdered young man also suffered the same fate in the town of Tamazula, Durango. http://www.el-mexicano.com.mx/informacion/noticias/1/22/policiaca/2013/01/24/646409/matan-a-sujeto-a-balazos-dos-detenidos.aspx

Road Closed for Drinking Water Work (El Mexicano, 1/24/13 by Jose Jimenez Diaz)

TECATE, BC - For two days, beginning yesterday, the municipal government through the Public Works and Services Department, began work on ruptured asphalt on Bulevar Defensores de Baja California 1911 and Calle Gutiérrez Durán at Secundaria Francisco I. Madero.

The municipal agency said the work is for the installation of a water line in the North side of Bulevar Defensores, but only the portion in front of the secondary education school will be closed enabling travel on the South roadway in both directions.

The work could be extended by about two days so they invite citizens to take precautions or take alternate routes as long as the work continues. http://www.el-mexicano.com.mx/informacion/noticias/1/3/estatal/2013/01/24/646297/cierran-vialidad-por-obras-de-agua-potable.aspx
