Baja & Border News Translations: New Ricketts Case Confirmed; Mayor Thanks Work of Neighborhood Committees

New Ricketts Case Confirmed (La Voz de la Frontera, 1/20/13 by Alejandro Garcia Magallón)

Mexicali, BC – The Personal Secretary of the State for Health confirmed a new case of Ricketts in Mexicali yesterday afternoon, presented in less than 11 years in zona de Los Santorales in fraccionamiento Valle de las Misiones. The child was admitted to the General Hospital (HG) of Mexicali.

The unit said the girl who entered the hospital was diagnosed in the same medical unit on January 16 while already in a very advanced state of the disease. So far the patient remains in a severe situation in the intensive care area.

The staff of the Secretariat indicated that prior to her entry to the HG, the child's family was examined by a particular doctor and did not find anything or identify the disease, so they drove to Centro Cívico to find her health was already very deteriorated.

The girl, Esmeralda García López, health was in a very delicate condition yesterday afternoon. Even without an official version from the Ministry of Health, this became the second known case of Ricketts in Mexicali so far in the year, which is unusual at this stage of the year. http://www.oem.com.mx/lavozdelafrontera/notas/n2849945.htm
