Mexico City - At least 5,000 chefs, sommeliers and waiters are summoned to meet in March at the Angel of Independence in Mexico City to break the Guinness record established in 2012 and to establish a national Mexican Gastronomy Day, organizers said.

"We want to dress in white at the Angel of independence," Víctor Hugo Rodríguez said at a conference. He is a founding partner of Águeda Publishing, specializing in the sector and an organizer of the event.

In 2011, 400 chefs, sommeliers and waiters met; in 2012 the figure reached 900, said Rodriguez at an event which he pointed out that it won’t be until this year when his record is included in the "Guiness" book.

The organizers hope to establish an unprecedented mass meeting of professionals from the gastronomic sector in Mexico on Mexican Gastronomy Day, the third Saturday in March, he added.

In November 2010, Mexican cuisine was declared as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. http://www.oem.com.mx/elsudcaliforniano/notas/n2846364.htm

Los Cabos, BC Sur - Wishing him the greatest success in his new endeavors, Municipal Delegate, Martín Lagarda Ruiz and Mrs. Cristina Barraza de Lagarda, gave recognition to Vice Admiral DEM Felipe Solano Armenta, who served as Commander of the Naval Sector of Los Cabos until yesterday.

Such a delivery was made at a fun gathering at a renowned restaurant in the town, which was attended by representatives of various sectors of society who gave messages of thanks and good wishes to the Vice Admiral and his family at this new stage of his life, as well as a Captain’s Diploma from Marco Antonio Castillo Nurseries.

For his part, Felipe Solano Armenta said that during his 2 and a half year stay in this Township he worked in coordination with local authorities. "We can say that San José de el Cabo and Cabo San Lucas are the safest cities in the country, where families have the privilege to enjoy tranquility to walk their streets or go out to a restaurant for dinner. Now the Marine Sector is sending us to the city of Tampico, Tamaulipas where we will continue our duty," he said.

Similarly he added that it has worked for the naval sector to join with society and not perceive them as military, having excellent results with that approach for the community in general. "We feel proud of Los Cabos as being safe to invest but above all to live", he completed.

The event was attended by Luis Fernando Quintero Rocha, President of the Colegio de Ingenieros. A.C. section Los Cabos; Raul Leal Chavarín, Municipal Public Works Director; Antonio Gómez Rioja, Coordinador de Obras Publicas; Fernando Robles Husher, Subcommittee of Works of the FOIS; Ricardo Quintero Rocha, College of Architects; and Engineer Juan Enrique Mitchel García, Treasurer, all of them accompanied by their distinguished wives. http://www.oem.com.mx/elsudcaliforniano/notas/n2845616.htm
