97 Migrant Families Receive Business Support (La Vaz de la Frontera, 1/10/13 by Francisco Aguiar Barajas)

Tonalá, Jalisco - A total of 97 families in Tonalá benefited from the support fund program for migrants sponsored by Federal and State Governments and the city of Tonala, to deliver economic resources of 8 to 12,500 pesos ($633 to 988 US) to each of these families to be invested in any business.

This program aims to support people who have relatives in the United States of America or are working in other States, providing 80% of the total cost of business from the Federal Government, and 20% by the owners. Rafael Mendoza Mendoza, Director General of Social Development, reported this program will benefit families of migrants so that they can have a business and income.

"Ninety-seven families in different colonies of the municipality of Tonalá, colonies like Agua Blanca, Puente Grande, Coyula, El Vado, which were creditors of support, all with different monetary amounts, since the areas of marketing are different," said the head of Economic Development. For its part the municipal President of Tonalá, Jorge Arana Arana, said they will be successful with the support of the Federal Government and State benefits for the families in Tonalá.

"Tonalá Municipal Government is committed to helping people; we hope that the fruit is businesses that grow large with this financial support. This money has to be invested in a proper way. This is the objective of the Federal Government, headed by President Enrique Peña Nieto and the goal of the State Government headed by Emilio González Márquez and also the Government headed by your mayor", said the Mayor.

3 Arrested for Alien Smuggling (La Vaz de la Frontera, 1/9/13)

Mexico City - Elements of the Federal Police intercepted two vehicles carrying 16 people from Guatemala, who could not provide legal documents to stay in the country and managed to capture three individuals allegedly involved in the smuggling of aliens.

The action took place on national road 145-D, Las Choapas-Ocozocoautla, in the State of Chiapas at 124 kilometer, where federal police officers stationed in the region stopped a Volkswagen Jetta brand vehicle and a Grand Caravan van, which were driven at high speeds.

The Federal elements performed an inspection of the vehicles and located a woman and 15 men, including three minors, who traveled illegally and were immediately detained to receive necessary aid, under strict measures that would guarantee their integrity and human rights.

These facts were provided: José Jiménez García, driver of the Volkswagen Jetta was accompanied by Baldemar Antonio Juan, of Guatemalan nationality, as well as Alejandro Gómez Martínez who was driving the Chrysler Grand Caravan with all of the identified migrants who those who were the men moving them.

After making an exchange of information, police learned José Jiménez García and Alejandro Gómez Martínez are related to a preliminary investigation for the crime of rape in the General Law of the Population in the State of Veracruz. To carry out the relevant investigations, the three subjects were placed at the disposal of the agent of the Public Prosecutor's Office and the 16 undocumenteds were presented to check their immigration status.
