392,293 Pesos Damages to Schools (Frontera, 1/11/13 by Iran Soto)

TIJUANA, BC - Damage by vandals during the winter break left, to date, a total of 392,293 pesos ($31,016 US) and are still posting that which is not yet counted.

In the primary 5 de Febrero at 4163 Avenida Roma in colonia Montes Olímpicos, there was theft of electric wiring, 7 electric panels, water tubing and walls in classrooms, with total damages of 82,933 pesos ($6,557 US).

In the case of the zona 36 de preescolar, at 501 Avenida Lisboa in Col. Altamira, they damaged a wall, creating a hole to enter and steal computers, causing economic damage of 82,108 pesos ($6,492 US).

The primaria Calmecac, on Avenida Sur S/N in Fracc. Pórticos de San Antonio, was the institution which suffered least economic damage, with 25,709 pesos ($2,033 US) in losses, with the theft of wiring from inside and outside and damage to electric systems.

The primaria Isla del Cedro had the same problems as the primary Calmecac, the theft of wiring from inside and outside and damage to electric systems, with losses of 71,166 pesos ($5,627 US), in Fracc. Urbi Quinta del Cedro.

Theft of cables and damage to windows was done at primaria Nueva Creación in colonia Laurel II, with damages estimated at 72,201 pesos ($5,709 US).

The primaria Intercultural Bilingüe Jurhenguare Onsipekua, had a loss of 58,174 pesos ($4,600 US) from theft of electrical wiring in colonia Xicotencatl Leyva Mortera.

Scholarships Offered for Master's Degrees in Engineering (Frontera, 1/11/13 by Iran Soto)

TIJUANA, BC - The National Council of Science and Technology (Conacyt), is offering maintenance grants to study master's degrees in engineering at Cetys University of Sciences. The objective is to provide support for training engineers and increase the scientific and technological innovative capacity of the country, contributing to its development.

CETYS University has a national program of quality graduate programs (PNPC) in their graduate programs which allow it to offer academic scholarships with a 24 month duration. Scholarships offered by Conacyt are full-time; this is to say that the student should focus 100% on mastery and not work during study time.

To enter Cetys Universidad and apply for a Conacyt scholarships, go to the University and ask for a briefing with Conacyt, then take an entrance examination, which must achieve at least 500 points, and finally have an interview with the academic Coordinator of the program.

After passing entrance requirements deliver all documents. Staff of Cetys Universidad and Conacyt will then notify you if your scholarship has been approved within 30 days.
