Woman Dies from Hit and Run on Insurgents (El Mexicano, 1/8/13 by Said Betanzos)

TIJUANA, BC - The corpse of Maria Dolores Ruelas Robles, 42, was found lying on the roadway in the middle of Boulevard Insurgentes at avenida Campos in colonia Kino. An accident was reported there at 5:55 p.m. and Municipal police officers soon arrived. Red Cross paramedics also arrived and diagnosed the death of the woman as a result of a sharp blow received by a vehicle.

The identity of the person who hit the victim is unknown, reported Municipal police. The road was closed to assist in the preliminary investigation, as well as to allow the agent of the Public Prosecutor to conduct their research.

Witnesses told the Transit expert, the driver responsible for the injury was not obeying the speed limit, causing the impact to Ruelas Robles. At 10:05 p.m. it was reported a green car with a damaged windshield and damage to its front was found on calle Bambúine near house number 11 in colonia Saucillos. They suspect the driver became overwhelmed after striking the woman and abandoned the vehicle then fled from the police. The vehicle was towed away. http://www.el-mexicano.com.mx/informacion/noticias/1/22/policiaca/2013/01/08/641708/muere-mujer-arrollada-en-insurgentes.aspx
