Baja & Border News Translations: Man from Rehab Center Found Dead; Travel with Caution if Going to Parque Sierra de San Pedro Mártir

Man from Rehab Center Found Dead (El Vigia, 1/7/13 by Andrew Perales)

San Quintín, B. C. - A man who had been missing since December 30, was found lifeless in a plot at an ejido in Meza San Jacinto belonging to the municipal delegation Camalu. The report was received after 12 noon on Saturday, by someone working at the ejido, who requested the presence of agents.

The soldiers went to "El Arivechi", where they found the subject without life wearing two pair of pants, one blue and another purple, two sweatshirts and a red jacket, tennis sports shoes and a black cap.

Before the discovery, they requested the presence of the agent of the Public Prosecutor of the Common jurisdiction, to determine a cause of the death and order the transfer of the corpse to the facilities of the forensic medical service (Semefo).

Due to the type of clothing on the body, local police went to the La Esperanza Rehabilitation Center, where they interviewed the person in charge who acknowledged the corpse’s identity. He mentioned the man answered to the name of Juan Pérez González, who was 40 years old, came from the delegation of Maneadero and had entered the center at his own volition.

He said that this person was trusted as responsible for replenishing the tanks of water and had the freedom to leave the Center, but had not been seen since Sunday, December 30. It was not ruled out the person had committed suicide, although the Attorney General of Justice of the State (PGJE) is responsible for determining the cause of death. http://www.elvigia.net/noticia/hallan-muerto-en-una-parcela

Travel with Caution if Going to Parque Sierra de San Pedro Mártir (El Vigia, 1/7/13 by Andrew Perales)

San Quintín, B. C. - Local police authorities urged the population to use caution and follow the recommendations of Rangers when climbing Parque Sierra de San Pedro Mártir to enjoy nature. In the last days of December and first of January, dozens of visitors have come to the Parque Nacional Sierra de San Pedro Mártir and they urge their careful ascent.

The first snow of the winter season increased the number of visitors. Similarly, police keep on the lookout in case of any incidents. Parque Sierra de San Pedro Mártir promotes ecotourism and activities in direct contact with the environment and also teaches visitors the importance of conservation.

"Right now there is snow and at the moment we have no reports of snowfall, but it is quite cold and visitors should take precautions to camp without setbacks", authorities said.

Preventive agents commented that a lack of caution when driving on this road is dangerous, even without snow, since there have been several accidents. So they make a call to alert drivers who travel to Parque Sierra de San Pedro Mártir to increase their precautions, always keeping a sense of responsibility. In what corresponds to a police Corporation, staff remains attentive to respond to any emergency calls, and will close the road if necessary. http://www.elvigia.net/noticia/emiten-recomendaciones-para-subir-la-sierra-spm
