User of Counterfeit Notes Arrested (Frontera, 10/16/12)

TIJUANA, BC - Based on an anonymous complaint, an individual who tried to pay with counterfeit notes, for goods at a colonia Cumbres del Rubí grocery store was seized by Municipal police officers.

Ramón Chávez Tinajero, 51, attempted to use a 100 Peso note ($7.81), but it was rejected realizing it was false. The alleged offender then tried to escape but the trader detained him and put him in custody of municipal officers assigned to the District San Antonio de los Buenos.

In a precautionary review of the detainee, police officers found him in possession of five counterfeit notes: three 200 pesos ($15.63), with serial number K6616103 and two 100 pesos with serial number Z7012388. The municipal judge referred the case to federal prosecutors.

According to the Federal Criminal Code, a person who commits the offense of counterfeiting shall be sentenced to five to twelve years in prison and up to five hundred days of fine the daily minimum wage. The same penalty shall be imposed for knowingly using counterfeit currency. Two Arrested for Sex Assaults (Frontera, 10/16/12) TIJUANA, BC - Municipal police officers assigned to the operational unit against domestic violence, in different actions arrested two individuals for sexual assault to minors.

The Secretariat of Municipal public safety (SSPM) reported that fractionation Delicias officers captured José García Díaz, 43, accused of raping his stepdaughter of 14 years, when the girlfriend of the aggressor's mother went to work. She revealed the accused attacked her on 3 or 4 occasions, with threats that if denounced him, he would be worse, and that no one would believe her.

Baldomero Valenzuela, 36, was arrested in Vista de Palmillas, La Presa Rural Division, accused by a girl, 13, having beaten her yesterday afternoon and forced her to have sex. The child said she did not it denounced him before for fear that he would comply with death threats that he made him, and added that he also committed similar abuses against her half-sister, of the same age, with the same intimidation; both detainees were place at the disposal of the Public Ministry of the common law. http://www.frontera.info/EdicionEnLinea/Notas/Policiaca/16102012/630929.aspx
