MEXICALI, BC - For the second consecutive day, ministerial agents were subjected to threatening acts by members of organized crime. On Monday morning there were blankets with messages against the police and an agent of the Public Ministry Attorney working against organized crime (SCDO). Now, yesterday morning three patrols vehicles of the State Ministerial Police (PME) were burned at homes of detective agents and even a Molotov bomb was thrown at a facility of the Attorney General of Justice of the State (PGJE).
The attacks were perpetrated almost simultaneously during the morning in four different locations, three of them in the González Ortega delegation, at the homes of Ministerial Police Officers, where they left State vehicles parked outside of their houses, so were easy targets for arsonists who used "Molotov" type bombs to carry out the attacks
The fires were perpetrated at la avenida Río Champotón y calle 14 at Villa Verde; plus another at la avenida Nandinas y Paseo Florida at Villa Florida; and the third at el bulevar Abelardo L. Rodríguez between Rojo Gómez y Bernardo Reyes, in la colonia Alianza para la Producción.
Two of the homes are department heads, one for group apprehensions and other in strategies against crime. Last Monday, State Justice Department officials were subjected to threats that have unofficially transcended into mutually destructive situations. This has occurred whenever there was a force of 40 ministerial agents acting on behalf of the institution seeking to break groups of organized crime elements.
The vehicles set intentionally ablaze were a 2010 Chevrolet pick-up, a 2001 Ford 250 pick-up and a 1997 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up, all State Ministerial police patrol vehicles. During the course of the morning a gallon of gasoline was located in the Commander of the PME office courtyards at el Río Nuevo, a small distance from what could have become another fire that did not burn any further.

MEXICALI, BC - The Secretariat of Health for the State, through the Institute of Psychiatry, delivered 474 scholarships for 118,000 pesos ($9,154 US) each yesterday to rehabilitation centers in the entity as part of a support program to certified places.
The Institute Director, Luis Enrique Dorantes Marines, said that the total number of scholarships distributed at each Center will be four, adding to an investment of 114 million pesos ($8,844 US).
The grants will be channeled to support user treatment at centers, which averages six months in duration and varies according to condition, type of treatment and acceptance by the patient, said Hector Peña Vargas, spokesman for the beneficiaries.
Peña Vergas is also a director of specialized services in addictions recovery from A.c., which provides support to people who have fallen into trouble with drugs and whose experience has shown him that, on average, it costs up to 500 pesos ($39 US) per person per week for their drug treatment.
