Baja & Border News Translations: Woman Sold Stolen Auto; Couple Arrested Selling Rockets Without Permission

Woman Sold Stolen Auto (El Mexicano, 12/24/12 by Said Betanzos)

TIJUANA, BC - Tijuanense Beatriz de Regil González, 49, and Miguel Angel Vazquez Jr., "El Micke", 29 years old, will spend Christmas together but in the penitenciaria of La Mesa.

The Attorney Against Organized Crime (SCDO) reported these arrests once agents of the Ministerial Police of the Specialized Agency Against Theft of Vehicles found a car stolen on December 20th from avenida de Las Torres in El Pipila colony.

It was a white Nissan Maxima, which was badly parked and didn't have front tires. On one side was a man, who told investigators that he had bought it from a Beatriz de Regil in colonia Juárez a day earlier. At that time, the agents verified the serial number and it turned up on a theft report.

The victim was taken by the Ministerial police to the house of the woman, who agreed to having sold the Nissan for 4,400 pesos ($3,412 US). Of that money, authorities only recovered 1,020 pesos ($79 US), because Beatrice had spent rest in a casino. She confessed to selling the vehicle to "El Micke", who ministerial authorities also later arrested. He is a native of Santa Ana, California.

The agent of the Public Prosecutor's Office is determined to bring criminal action against Regil Beatriz and Vazquez Jr. for the crime of theft of a motor vehicle. The two were detained in the La Mesa prison at the disposal of a criminal judge. http://www.el-mexicano.com.mx/informacion/noticias/1/22/policiaca/2012/12/24/638621/vendio-mujer-auto-robado.aspx
