Citizens Group Brings Food to Those With Less (La Cronica, 12/23/12 by Yerson Martinez)
MEXICALI, BC - About 300 residents of the colonia Faisanes benefited with clothes, toys, pantry items and food given to them by citizens. A caravan of 20 cars arrived at the colony at 4 p.m. with at least two pick-ups full of clothes, as well as three trucks loaded with pantry items. The remaining trucks carried toys and various items for the residents of the community. Through Operation Regina, dozens of people delivered in-kind aid for low-income residents organized through Facebook.
With a smile, the children received toys and immediately began to play with their gifts received before Christmas night. Mothers took advantage of choosing five items of clothing for each baby, child, woman and man. The residents were given two Piñatas before departing.
"Very well, my pantry and clothing closet are full. With this, I already have a meal for Christmas", said Maria de Jesus Leon, 66. http://www.lacronica.com/EdicionEnLinea/Notas/Noticias/23122012/653211.aspx
